PARENTS AND CHILDREN
-Once a person came to Holy Prophet and asked,
'O messenger of Allah, what are the rights of parents on their children?'
He replied,'For you they can be heaven or hell.'
-The Prophet (pbuh) once exclaimed,
Shame on him!
Shame on him!
Shame on him!
When asked who the man in question was replied,
'He who had both or one of his parents with him in their old age,
yet he failed to enter Paradise.'
-No father has given his child anything better than good manners.
-Respect your parents and your children will respect you.
-Heaven is beneath the feet of your mother.
-Asma bint AbuBakr related how her foster mother a believer in polytheism (shirk),
had come to her during the treaty of Hudaibiyya.
Concerned that her foster mother was a polytheist she addressed the Prophet (pbuh),
'O Messenger of God, my idolatrous mother has come to me and
want something from me. Should I give it to her?'
'Yes.Treat her well.' Prophet replied.
-The man who brings up two daughters so that they attain maturity,
will appear at my side on the Day of Judgement
as close as my two adjacent fingers.
-Should I tell you what is the best charity?
To spend on the daughter who has been returned to you (divorced or widowed),
when there is no one else to earn for her.
-When a man spends on his family members with the intention of God's pleasure,
then his spending becomes an act of charity.
-He who is not affectionate to God's creature and his own children,
Allah will not be affectionate to him.
-A man is bound to do good to his parents,
although they have injured him.
-A man asked the Prophet of God,
'Who is the most desrving of friendly care from me?' He (pbuh) replied,
'Your mother'.
He asked who came next and the Prophet repeated
'Your mother.'
Then the man asked again who came next and the Holy Prophet replied,
'Your father.'
